Wanter accompanies youngsters on their journey towards the careers of tomorrow

Valore D’s Wanter project: what is it and how does it work?

“Wanter: All the Jobs of the Future” is a social innovation project for secondary schools, which steers future talents towards the most in-demand professions and the study courses that best match their inclinations.

The heart of the project is wanter.it, a free digital platform where users can find the jobs of the future, explore relevant courses of study and identify the jobs that best match their talents and aspirations, thus making a more conscious, targeted choice of their educational pathway.

With more than 150 professions presented through a series of video showcases, Wanter not only guides the people of the younger generation but also their parents and teachers, especially in the STEM field, where women remain under-represented.

To enhance the impact of the project, in 2022 an e-learning training course on orientative education was launched to support second-year secondary school teachers in their activities. In June 2023, the course involved more than 1300 teachers across 21 regions.

Starting from the 2023-2024 school year, two new initiatives were implemented to enrich the guidance experience. The first is called “SkillUpp”, a gamified digital questionnaire that, through a series of activities, evaluates the skills and expertise of students, comparing them with the requirements of the various professional sectors. The second involves a series of guidance workshops conducted by professionals who come into schools to describe their experiences and activate a dialogue with the students, stimulating the youngsters to reflect on their career ambitions.

What social impact is Wanter having? Let’s take a look at some interesting facts and figures.
