The value of small and medium-sized enterprises in building a more inclusive society
One of the main objectives of Valore D is to address the issues of diversity, equity and inclusion extensively, across all organizations – not just big businesses but also small and medium-sized concerns, which represent an important element within the market of the Italian business community.
The Obiettivo PMI (Objective: SME) project was created to drive the inclusion of small and medium-sized enterprises into the network, and to accelerate the dissemination of awareness of the issues of gender and sustainability. In 2023, through a phase of listening to and analyzing the needs of SMEs, which ended with a study involving more than 500 businesses, Valore D introduced a number of initiatives oriented specifically towards organizations on this scale, with a view to generating understanding of the importance of the role played by the culture of inclusion as a strategic lever for development and for the country’s economic and social growth.
The activities geared towards SMEs include local events to raise awareness of the importance of undertaking a path towards diversity and of disseminating the opportunities associated with gender certification as envisaged by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PPNR), starting with making available the tool for the measurement of gender equality and diversity in the company: the Inclusion Impact Index Plus.
The know-how accumulated in the fields of social sustainability and the inclusion of diversity in the company is available to SMEs across the country, with a view to grounding their approach in reality, constructing step-by-step an effective strategy for the management of diversity within organizations, thanks in part to the training and consultancy services offered by Valore D.
